Pictures of the Moon |

Over the Christmas there was a Lunar Eclipse, here is a picture of the event. Notice that in the image below, there is far more detail. This is because you don't get the shadows with a lunar eclipse. There's only so much detail you can fit in 29K! |

I quite enjoy taking pictures of the moon, but as an astronomer friend of mine (Dave) once said to me, "You can never quite get close enough". This picture was taken after a red sunset (unusual in Ireland!) and I was very taken back by the colours. There are no filters used and no photoshop other than a small bit of sharpening (taken on slide film). |

The Moon and Venus |

I was down in County Clare when through the window I spotted that Venus was very close to the Moon. I felt it added just that bit extra to what I would normally see. |
